Compliance with Industry Standards

Using hydraulic hose crimpers ensures compliance with industry standards and regulations. Properly crimped hoses meet or exceed performance requirements, providing peace of mind in critical applications.

Nine Steps Involved iIn Crimping A Hydraulic Hose
1

Measure and cut the hose
According to your requirements, determine the hose length. Accordingly, cut it to the correct size using a hose saw.

2

Mark Insertion Depth
Use a hose insertion depth block to identify the insertion depth of the fitting. With this mark, you can determine if the crimp fitting is correctly seated into your hydraulic hose.

3

Clean The Hose
Using a foam projectile, remove debris that accumulates during hose cutting. Residue removal is necessary to prevent contamination, which can otherwise lead to assembly failure.

4

Load In the Correct Specifications
You need to set your crimp machine for operation. Input the suitable crimp diameter for each hose assembly.

5

Select The Die
Crimp tool dies are designed for crimping connectors during electrical work and installation. The dies are designed explicitly for specific hoses and fittings.you must ensure that you have assigned the correct specifications for the die.

6

Place The Hose in The Crimping Machine
Insert the hose's end into the crimping machine through the die. By doing so, the hydraulic hose fitting will appear over the die. The hose's top must not be above the die.

7

Crimp The Hose
You are now ready to start the crimping process for your hydraulic hose. Switch on the machine. The cylinder head starts to move down slowly. As it begins to push the collar, it starts to compress the die. Keep the machine running till the collar gets firmly attached at the bottom of the die. It will then stop running.

8

Verify The Crimp Diameter
Ensure that the hose satisfies the correct crimp diameter. Check the chalk mark you had made on the hose to verify that it has reached the right length. If it is no longer at the fitting's base, it may imply that the hose or the fitting has moved while crimping. It may not lead to a good crimp. If the chalk mark happens to be in place, it means that the crimping is successful.

9

Cap Hose Assembly
Once you clean the hose again, cap the assembly on both ends. Using heat shrink caps or plastic caps allows you to do so.

What are the precautions to take when using the hose crimping machine

1. Installation and debugging of the hose crimping machine
Handling: The hose crimping machine should be handled by a forklift, and the bottom of the hose crimping machine should be stressed. The hose crimping machine is strictly prohibited to be upside down. It is strictly forbidden to lift the pipe pressing machine head and the parts of the motor and electrical box.
Installation: The hose crimping machine should be placed horizontally on a stable foundation and grounded.
Oil filling: Open the fuel tank cap and add No. 46 hydraulic oil.
Power connection: Connect the power cord to the power supply specified by the hose crimping machine, start the motor to observe the direction of rotation, and the direction of the motor should be consistent with the direction marked by the motor. If the direction of the motor is not the same as the direction marked, please reverse the position of two of the power cables.
Micrometer: Fine tune the size when crimped.

2. Crimping

  • When the hose crimping machine is used for the first time, it should be crimped 20 to 30 times with no load, and it can be used after observing that all parts are normal.
  • When the pipe press is used in winter, it should be withheld 20~30 times without load to increase the oil temperature.
  • Press the open button, after the mold base is opened, select the corresponding mold to install on the mold base according to the specifications of the hose to be withheld, and adjust the micrometer scale.
  • Place the hose with the fittings in place in the press head.
  • Press the crimping button to perform the crimping operation until the pipe crimping machine head stops crimping and automatically opens the mold.
  • Take out the crimped hose assembly, and use a vernier caliper to detect the outer diameter of the crimped ferrule.

3. Precautions

  • When crimping, place the fitting as far as possible in the center of the mold, and do not press on the hex nut.
  • Prevent tools and other foreign objects from entering the tube press head.
  • After each work, the eight module bases must be opened to the maximum extent, so that the spring can be maintained in an open state, and the oil cylinder is also in a pressure relief state to prolong the life of the oil seal.

4. Maintenance of the hose crimping machine

  • The hydraulic oil in the oil tank should be replaced when it exceeds the aging time specified by the hydraulic oil manufacturer, or the oil level gauge should be checked. If the hydraulic oil has been oxidized and turned black, it must be replaced.
  • Always inject anti-wear lubricant into the moving surface of the die base.
  • During non-pipe pressing machine working hours, please cover the dust cover to prevent debris from entering the mold base.
